Bernard Junior Franklin

Bernard Junior Franklin of Amherst, Virginia passed away February 10, 2026 at the age of 81.

He was born on July 16, 1944 a son of the late John Walter Franklin and Martha Franklin.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Henry Franklin and Allen Franklin and his sister, Connie Cash.

He is survived by his children, Ronnie Franklin (Mary), Cindy Smith, and Linda Sears (Scott); five grandchildren, Lucas Franklin, Cierra Wallace (John), McKenzie McCloud (Bayler), Caleb Sears, and Lantz Sears (Alyssa); four great-grandchildren, Peyton Franklin, Isaiah Wallace, Elijah Wallace, and Ayvah Wallace as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Jonesboro Cemetery in Roseland with Pastor Clyde Mawyer, Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston.
