Charles Garnet Goodwin

Charles G. Goodwin, 75, departed his life on Monday, May 6, 2024 at W. G. Hefner Salisbury VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Charles was born in Nelson County on January 22, 1949.   He was the son of the late Helen Goodwin.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben Goodwin and Jerome Goodwin; two aunts, Alice and her husband, John Morris and Margaret Goodwin.

Charles leaves his son, Alphonso Goodwin of North Carolina, two daughters, Veronica  and her husband, Corey Campbell of Madison Heights and Serena (Nikki) Goodwin of Lynchburg; two sisters, Shirley Murphy, and Ruth Morris; one grandson, Malik Kourkoulakos; three granddaughters, Kenisha Campbell, Da’Vanica Napper and Aureeno Goodwin and great-grandchild, Kamari-Cheree Goodwin.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Union Baptist Church in Afton with Rev. Sheldon Page, Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before time of service.
