Diane Elizabeth Phillips

Diane Elizabeth Phillips, 72 of Madison Heights passed away June 20, 2024 in Amherst.

Diane was born on July 3, 1951 to the late Aubrey Thomas Phillips and the late Emma Lee Wood Phillips.

She is survived by her brother, Aubrey Lee Phillips and his wife Gloria, two nieces, Cynthia Workman and Crystal Jones and a nephew Daniel Phillips as well as two great nephews and two great nieces.

Diane may have missed being born on the 4th of July, but she was still a firecracker in her time which was part of her charm, and you had to love her.

She held jobs in the food service industry, as a secretary and as a sitter and nurse’s aide.

In 1988, Diane was in a horrible automobile accident that left her with a broken jaw, broken arm and a metal plate inserted in her left elbow, which restricted her ability to work.

She loved animals, particularly her little Pekingese, Bankrupt, whom she had for 13 years and was her heart and soul.

Diane spent the last year and a half at Fairmont Crossing Rehabilitation Center in Amherst. The family would like to thank the staff of the Fox Run Unit for their compassionate care of Diane. You are all a true blessing.

As she wished, a brief graveside service will be held for Diane on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Adial Baptist Church Cemetery, in Faber, VA. at 11 a.m.

Arrangements by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston (434-263-4097).
