In Loving Memory of Donald Ray Bell

December 21, 1975 – October 23, 2026

Donald Ray Bell, 50 of Shipman VA, departed this life on Friday October 23, 2026 at the University of Virginia Hospital.

Donnie was predeceased by his father, Will Thomas Bell. Grandparents Carl and Madge Murrell, Essie Mae Washington and Wilbert Wheeler.

Donnie was a beloved, son, father, brother, and uncle. He loved to cook, and grill. You couldn’t tell him he wasn’t a gourmet chef. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy and UNC Tarheel fan. No matter how bad the season was, he would say “we will get them next time”. Donnie was an introvert, but he never met a stranger. He loved helping others.

Donnie was a self employed Electrician.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Justus S. Bell, his mother Florence B. Bell, his sisters, Carolyn (Alphonso) Taylor, and Debra Bell-Page. His twin brother Darrell (Carol) Bell. His brother-in-law, Chris Page. Donnie loved his nephews and nieces; each held a special place in his heart. Derrick (Diamond) Taylor, Brandon (Natalie) Bell, Jayden Taylor, DaQuan Bell, Demetrius Bell and Darion Bell. His great nieces and nephews, Brently Bell, Ava, London and Paris Taylor, Janari White. His aunts Irene Tillman, Dorothy Martin, Helen Meredith, Mary Vest, Margaret Little, Mildred Drummond. His uncles LeeRoy Vest, and Oscar Vest. A host of other relatives, and friends.

Although our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in God’s promises of being reunited with our loved ones in Heaven.

The funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston VA. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
