Doris Ann Vest

Doris Ann Vest, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 20, 2024, at the University of Virginia Hospital.  

She was born in Nelson County, Virginia on August 4, 1960, the daughter of the late Rasped and Gertrude Vest. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Rasped Vest Jr.; James Vest and four sisters, Linda Vest Johnson, Laura Napier, Vivian Vest, and Gerty Mae Vest, one niece ,Cassandra Vest and one nephew Timothy Vest.

She was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Nelson County. She was employed by UVA Hospital for over 20 years and in a private sitting. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Franklin Vest, Jeremy Vest, wife Trieanna Vest and Christopher Vest all of Charlottesville, VA; an aunt, Marie Harris of Faber, VA; and 12 grandchildren 6 nieces and 3 nephews, a host of, cousins, and friends.

Doris Ann was the last to go home with the Lord from her immediate family. She was a mother to her own and to her nieces and nephews. She was a great friend to many, and was the cook in the family. She always made sure you had food and would check to see how you were doing even if she was not doing well herself. She enjoyed reading books and watching movies. She always made sure the family was together. She will truly be missed from earth, but we will always have a part of her in our hearts. Thank you, Lord, for allowing her to be a part of our lives. As we continue this Journey of life, we will keep her alive in our hearts. Forever grateful!   

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 12:00pm at the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovingston with Rev. Donald S. Terry, Jr. presiding.
