Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Carr Truslow

Dorothy (Dottie) Jean Carr Truslow, 75, gained her heavenly wings on April 24, 2024 at her residence in Beech Grove. 

She was born October 23, 1948 the daughter of James Willie Carr and Lillian Painter Carr. 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charlie J. Truslow, Jr. and three brothers, Milton, Kenny and Doug Carr.

Dottie leaves to cherish her memory three children, Joe (Tammy), Jim (Courtney) and Janice (Will); her seven beloved grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Clara Rose Carr and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Lovingly known as Nana to many, her love for all her "littles" shined through. The highlight of her week was her Tuesday evening dinner with Lanie and Rosie. If you came to her house and left hungry it was of no fault to her. She always had a full refrigerator and an open heart. She loved shopping and going out to eat and just being with her family and friends. 

A special thanks to her longtime friend Karen (Nessie) Campbell for never leaving her side and always picking up the pieces for her kids and grandkids. We love you MawMaw. 

We will forever be grateful for the love and support shown to our family from the Beech Grove Community.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour before at Beech Grove Christian Church, Rob Mansfield officiating. A reception will follow at the Church Social Hall.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
