Ella Lee Browning

Ella Lee Wood Browning, 84 of Amherst passed away Monday, July 10, 2023 at Fairmont Crossing.

She was born June 21, 1939 in Charlottesville, VA, the daughter of the late Fred Hunter Wood and Maggie McQuary Wood.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallar Marion "Tray" Browning, Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Browning Parr and Timothy Parr.

Ella is survived by her son, Wallar M. Browning Jr. (Doris) of Shipman; grandson Trace Parr (Elizabeth) of Amherst;  and two great grandchildren, Sybill and Magnolia Lee Parr.

Ella had over 30 years of service with Nelson County as the Assistant County Administrator and worked in the Building Inspectors office.  She was a member of Clifford Baptist Church.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Purvis Family Cemetery on Naked Mtn. Road in Shipman with Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  at the funeral home.
