Eugene "Peanut" Leathers

“Peanut” Eugene Leathers, 65 of Schuyler Va passed away on March 10, 2026, in Charlottesville Va.

Born on April 2, 1960, in Charlottesville Va. Eugene was a loving husband and father. He worked hard every day to take care of those he loved. He was passionate about running a bulldozer and pushing dirt. He took pride in what he did and his family. He enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, mowing his grass, keeping his yard nice, Nascar, and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Sandra Leathers; his six children, Melissa Cragun, Janice Schooley, Crystal Leathers, Brian Leathers, Shannon Leathers, and Tracy Leathers; two brothers, Larry Leathers, Rodger Leathers, and four sisters, Joyce Stanley, Mary Corbin, Rose Corbin, and Jackie Whidby; eleven grandchildren, Austin Elliot, Shaun Elliot, Taylor Switzer, Bailee Ingram, Hailey Yowell, Abigale Morris, Christian Leathers, Olivia Dixon, Leah Slatton, Presley Smith, Carter Leathers, and two step grandchildren, Chloe Morris, and Isaiah Stark.

Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Dyer; his mother Sarah Weakly, and his brother, Steve Leathers

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel 828 Front Street Lovingston Virginia, 22949 with Pastor John Campbell officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family wants to thank Commonwealth Glass and Mirror for providing all flowers for the service.
