Eva Jane Mawyer Maki

Eva Jane Mawyer Maki, 91, was born in Adial, Virginia which is part of the Faber area.

At age 6 her family moved to Nellysford in the Rockfish Valley District of Nelson County,

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Maki; her parents, Joe and Annie Phillips Mawyer; a beloved grandmother, Eva L. Phillips and a sister, Hazel Rhames.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Jane; a son, William Roger and his wife, Gay; a grandson, Jonathan and his wife, Liz; a granddaughter, Rachel Erb and her husband, Kyle and their three children; a great-granddaughter, Alice Elizabeth and two great-grandsons, Derrick William and Cole Steven Erb.

Eva Jane was a retired elementary school teacher and enjoyed teaching the children. After retirement she enjoyed simple country living close to nature.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Adial Baptist Church Cemetery 1090 Adial Road Faber, Virginia 22938 with Pastor Evan Johnson officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Adial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Ella Wood 724 Rocky Road, Lovingston, VA 22949.
