Francis B. "Buddy" Wray

Francis B. Wray “Buddy”, 78, of Schuyler VA passed peacefully to live eternally with his Savior on June 9, 2025. He was a loving Husband, Daddy, Grandaddy, Brother, Uncle and friend. He will always be remembered for his infectious laughter and giving spirit.

He was born on December 23, 1946 in Warrenton VA. A son of the late LaGouri Garthwright and Edna Mae Wray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers David Wray and Wayne Wray.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Pat Wray; three children Denise Brown (Steve), Dawn Linder (Jonathan) and John Wray (Ashley); Five grandchildren Spencer, Micah, Riley, Madison and Matthew; Two sisters, Gloria Nash and Judy Johnson (Johnny); Two sister-in-laws, Sharon Wray and Clara Wray; special family friend Claudia Evans; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Buddy enjoyed time with family and friends, gardening, watching birds and his fur baby, Dozer. He was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Baptist Church and a retiree from Sprint-Centel.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Wray family cemetery at 1470 Salem Rd Schuyler, VA by Pastor Terry Tolliver.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Andrew’s Baptist Church or Hospice of the Piedmont.
