Frank William Clark, 68, of Lovingston died on July 29, 2023.
Born March 25, 1955, he was the son of Nancy and Lewis Clark.
Frank graduated from Nelson County High School (Class of 1975). While there, he was on the varsity football team and competed in indoor/outdoor track, winning 5 state championships in the early to mid 70's.
After he graduated school, he joined the U.S. Army and served from 1975-1978.
After 3 years of service he came back home and was a self employed carpenter. He eventually had his hand in all sorts of things and was considered a jack of all trades.
He most enjoyed being outside, no matter what he was doing. He was a nature person for sure, had a green thumb like no other.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father - Nancy Ann Clark and Lewis Melvin Clark, son - Oscar William Duane Harris, 2 sisters - Virginia Louise Johnson and Mary Hallie Clark, 7 brothers - James Wilson Clark, George Jr. Clark, Robert Lewis Clark, Charles Russel Clark, Henry Merlin Clark, Guy Randolph Clark and Garland Thomas Clark, 3 nieces - Donna Louise Johnson, Rosemary Clark and Katie Bell Clark, and 3 nephews - Jeffrey Sherill Clark, Thomas (Duck) Clark and Jeremiah Cardell Clark.
He is survived by 2 sisters - Dolly Ann Carter and Barbara Jean Clark, aunt - Catherine Adam's, uncle - Harrison Taylor, a loving and devoted companion of 35 years - Lorraine Harris of Lovingston, 4 sons - Frank Deshawn Clark (Amber) of Lovingston, Adrian Lewis Harris of Independence VA, Nathan Clark of California, and Justin Archie of Texas. Daughter - Melody Butler of Norwood VA, son-in-law - Daniel Butler of Norwood VA, and daughter-in-law - Amber Fitzgerald of Lovingston VA. 8 grandchildren - Oscar Jermidius Clark, Kaveon Washington, Bobby Brown, Mariah Butler, Darrian Butler (Ariana), Jaylen Clark, Trishelle Archie and Taliyah Archie, great grand-daughter - Dalilah Rane Butler, best friends - Frank Deshawn Clark and Lary G Crawford. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Special thanks to his niece Charlotte Clark and his great nephew Chris Allen for always making his day with your calls and visits.
Frank left a mark on everyone he came across and will be dearly missed by many.
The family will have a celebration of life service on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2pm at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston officiated by Reverend Woodson.
