Gean Byrd Dunivan, Sr.

Gean Byrd Dunivan, Sr., 77 of Nellysford went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2022.

Born on October 21, 1944 a son of the late Early F. Dunivan and Lizzie Virginia Harlow Dunivan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tootie (Delorse) Dunivan and a grandson, Billy.

He is survived by the love of his life for 58 years, Thelma Dunivan, a son, Birdie (Gean) Dunivan, Jr.; a daughter, Gloria Dunivan; and a son, John Perry as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was retired from Glenmore Country Golf Club Course and was a volunteer fireman at Crozet Fire Department for 9 years.  He coached Peachtree baseball for many years.  He loved teaching the youth throughout his life. 

He was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed teaching all of his grandchildren to work and build things.  He loved to hunt ginseng, play horseshoes, hunting, and fishing.  He loved to be in his shop building bird houses, making furniture, and refurbishing antiques.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Rock Gate Cemetery in Crozet with Pastor Robert Mansfield officiating.
