Gordon Ray Martin

Gordon Ray Martin, age 68 of Lovingston, VA passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at his residence in Lovingston, VA from a battle with cancer.

He was born May 5, 1957 in Great Falls, VA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Yorke; his parents, Leslie (Bill) and Annie Louise Martin; his step-mother, Linda Martin; grandparents, Fletcher and Birdie Martin and Frank and Gracie Tinnell.

He is survived by his son, Michael Martin and daughter-in-law, Sunny; three grandchildren, Chance, Payton and Remington Martin of Lyndhurst, VA; five step-children, Barry, Harold, Wayne, Glenn and Sue; four brothers, Mike Tinnell of Shipman, Freddie Martin (Carrie) and James Martin of Arrington, Doug Martin (Mary) of Amherst; three sisters, Mildred Myers (James) of Gordonsville, Tammy Hite (Johnny) and Chasity Fortune (Ryan) of Arrington and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was a lifelong painter. He never met a stranger and he loved fishing.

We would like to say a special thank you to the Hospice team that cared for him at the end and also to his aide, Gloria Akers. We appreciate all the love and care you gave him in his final days.

A private family committal will be held at a later date.
