Henrietta Marie Dowell

Henrietta Marie Dowell, 63, of Staunton departed this life early on Monday morning, August 21, 2023 at Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville.

She was born March 19, 1960, a daughter of the late Henry A. Dowell and Hattie M. Walker Dowell.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Dowell, Alfred Walker, and Howard Key; a sister, Mary Walker; and an uncle, Rufus Dowell.

Henrietta was a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Cassandra Hughes of Harrisburg, PA; three sisters, Rosa L. Key of Charlottesville, Emma D. Kiser and James of Charlottesville, and Annette D. Dowell of Charlottesville; four brothers, Sterling Robertson of North Garden, Gerald R. Dowell of Staunton, Lloyd H. Dowell and Peggy of Esmont, and Anthony W. Dowell and Talita of Waynesboro; a sister-in-law, Diane Key of Charlottesville; two aunts, Rosa Adams of Harrisburg, PA and Nancy Johnson of Covesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023 at Wayne Hills Baptist Church 877 Ladd Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980 with Pastor Jamie McClanahan officiating and Eulogist Elder Frances Lavender of Faith Deliverance Church of Jesus Christ.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
