John Jake Ross

On May 16, 2024, in Alexandria Virginia, John Jake Ross departed this life joining his lifelong love, Nena Ross, in eternal rest. 

John was born on June 15, 1937, to the late Jacob Ross, Jr., and Nannie Ross, in Arrington, Virginia. He was one of eleven siblings, with three brothers and seven sisters.

John was preceded in death by the love of his life, Nena Ross, his parents, Jacob and Nannie Ross, brothers; Walter Ross, Nelson Ross, and Charles Ross; and Sisters; Pauline Ross, Rebecca Ann Morse, and Julia Napper. 

He is survived by his daughter, Bernadette, and sisters, Cecilia Essex, Sallie Thomas, Margaret Thompson, and Virginia Ross. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024, in his honor at the Pine Hill Baptist Church, at 1642 Thomas Nelson Highway (Rt. 29) Arrington, Virginia 22922. Viewing at 11:00 am and the funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. 

Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery in Wingina.
