Leroy Kiser

Leroy Kiser departed this life on July 9, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born on July 31, 1963, Leroy was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kiser Sr., mother, Mamie Stewart Turner, and brothers Charles Kiser Jr. and James Kiser.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memory his devoted siblings: Mary Kiser Moon (Mitchell) of Hodges, SC; Bessie Baker (Vernon) of Waynesboro, VA; John Kiser (Dotti) of Amherst, VA; and his sister-in-law, Emma Kiser of Charlottesville, VA.  He is also lovingly remembered by his children: Megan Kiser (Damien) of Charlottesville, VA; Leroy Harper (Kaitlin) of Martinsville, VA; Tyler Harper of Arrington, VA; Cameron Harper of Arrington, VA; and Chris Terry of Amherst, VA. His legacy lives on through his five grandchildren, three aunts, one uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Leroy was an avid sports fan and proudly played for the Nellysford Raiders Baseball Team. He found peace and joy sitting on the riverbank with his fishing pole in hand, patiently waiting for “the big one.” He also loved to cook—often bragging that his dishes were better than those of his siblings, much to their amusement.

His beautiful smile, love of life, and warm spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Elk Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Wintergreen, VA with Rev. Sheldon Page, Sr. officiating. A wake will be held Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm at the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovingston.
