Maggie Louise Hughes Ballowe

Maggie Louise Hughes Ballowe, 94 of Dillwyn, formerly of Wingina, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Maggie was born December 2, 1927 in Nelson County, VA, the daughter of the late William Mason Hughes and Carrie Wright Hughes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Lightfoot Ballowe; two sons, Willie L. Ballowe, Jr., and Kenneth Wayne Ballowe; and two brothers, Franklin Hughes and Sam Henry Hughes.

Maggie is survived by her two daughters, Mary Londeree and husband Charles of Wingina and Florence Wright of Dillwyn; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at  2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October  12, 2022 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Buck Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the Ballowe Family Cemetery on Midway Mills Lane, Wingina.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston.
