Patrick “Pat” Eugene Micklem, 72, of Arrington passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born on November 22, 1953, a son of the late Willis Patrick Micklem and Eunice Virginia Mays Micklem Griffin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Tammy Lynn Micklem; his step-father, Earl Griffin; his sister, Rhonda Micklem Simpson and his father and mother-in-law, Maynard and Carrie Carter.
Patrick or “Pat” as everyone knew him, loved the Lord and attended Bethany United Methodist Church. He was a hardworking and faithful man whose life was defined by the kindness in his heart; always willing to lend a hand and do anything for anyone in need, never asking for anything in return. He was a dedicated employee of Southern Air and Electrical, working as their Electrical Project Manager for many years. Pat loved spending time with his family and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He found so much happiness in tending to his garden, watching it grow season after season. He attended countless softball games always cheering on and supporting all he could until his health no longer allowed him to attend. Pat also had a deep love for hunting and fishing, finding peace in the outdoors. When he wasn’t up to much, you could find him on his tractor, always keeping himself busy and finding something to work on.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Joyce Carter Micklem; his daughter, Crystal Micklem Taylor and her husband, Michael; his three angels, Ambyre (Caleb), Kaylee, and Alayna and his little pride and joy, Keaton Wayne. He is also survived by his brother, Glenn E. Micklem and wife, Sandy; Sisters-In-Law, Sandra Micklem, Brenda Cary (Russell), Carolyn Thompson, Becky Ragland (Sam) and Brothers-In-Law, M.D. Carter (Jean) and Don Carter, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and family friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Bethel Church of the Brethren, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00PM with Pastor Glen Dawson and Brenda Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Arrangements by the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovingston (434-263-4097).
