Rhonda Micklem Simpson

Rhonda Micklem Simpson, 65, of Madison Heights, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was born on July 14, 1960 to the late Willis Patrick Micklem and Eunice Virginia Mays Micklem Griffin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Earl Griffin and a niece, Tammy Micklem.

Rhonda always enjoyed working with her flowers and growing her miniature garden. She also enjoyed her cooking of cakes and her fudge.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, James Allen Simpson; two brothers, Pat Micklem (Joyce) of Arrington and Glenn Micklem (Sandy) of Madison Heights; five nieces, two nephews, six great nieces, and two great nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Bethel Church of the Brethren in Arrington with Brenda Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

The family suggest that memorial contributions be made in Rhonda’s memory to Bethel Church of the Brethren Cemetery Fund.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Sandy for always being there for Rhonda. She was more like a sister than a sister-in-law.
