Roger C. Rose 67, of Wingina gained his wings on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Va.
He was born to Charles A. Rose and Agnes O. Bolden of Wingina on April 25, 1954.
Roger was a quiet person. He loved his grandkids and spending time with his son Rogers, Jr. Besides that he liked spending time tinkering with cars. Roger took life as it comes one day at a time.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Charles and Agnes Rose; two brothers George Rose and Cabell Rose.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Roger Rose, Jr. (Candace) of Shipman and Chris Rose (Chelsea) of Florida; seven brothers Charles Rose (Mary) of Buckingham, Va., Percy Rose, Raymond Rose, Thomas Rose, Ray Rose, and Haywood Rose all of Wingina, Va and an adoptive brother James Bolden (Linda) of Maryland; five sisters, Charlotte Woodson of Shipman, Va., Agnes Jackson (Bernard) of Lovingston, Va., Emma Wilkes (Robert) of Stanardsville, Va., Diane Johnson of Williamsburg, Va., Rev. Judy Wright (Vasco) of Wingina, Va., nine grandkids and a host of other relatives and friends.
Roger loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them especially his grandkids. Gone but never forgotten. We will miss your smile and sense of humor, but will always be with us.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with Rev. Joseph Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in the St. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Wingina.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Repast will be held in the spring.
