In Loving Memory of Ronald Maxie Campbell “Speedy”
August 4, 1947 – October 20, 2026
Ronald Maxie Campbell, affectionately known to so many as “Speedy,” passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on August 4, 1947, Ronald lived a life rooted in family, friendship, faith, and a deep love for the outdoors. He was a God-fearing man who loved Jesus, and while his passing leaves a tremendous hole in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life and the blessed assurance that they will see him again one day.
Speedy was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and making memories with the people he loved most. His faith was an important part of who he was, and the hope he had in Jesus brings comfort to those who now grieve his passing. Though we mourn the loss of his earthly presence, we rejoice in the promise that, through Christ, death is not the end.
Ronald also had a special love for bear hunting, a passion that brought him countless memories and lifelong friendships. Some of his favorite times were spent in the shop with his bear-hunting buddies, sharing stories, laughter, and the kind of fellowship that made those moments unforgettable. Speedy had a way of bringing people together. He leaves behind a lifetime of stories, friendships, and memories that will continue to be shared for years to come. His love for his family, his faith in the Lord, and the friendships he built are all part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Maxie Campbell; his mother, Eileen Campbell; and his sister, Brenda Eanes.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Nessie Campbell; his daughters, Carol Staton (Mike) and Sandra Harris (Gary); and his stepsons, Ricky Bryant (Mindy) and AJ Bryant (Bridget). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Ryan Staton (Jessie), Ashley Bryant (Stevie), Sarah Harris, Alyssa Harris, Noah Bryant, Emma Bryant (Ryan), Aidan Bryant, Kylee Bryant, William Bryant, Abigail Bryant, and Jason Morris. Also, precious great-grandchildren, Weston Bryant and Theo Staton, who will carry his love and memory forward for generations to come.
He is also survived by extended family members Frankie Truslow, Derek Stinnett, Parker Truslow, and William Henry Coffey. Along with many other family members and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
Although our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in God’s promises and the hope of being reunited with our loved ones in Heaven. We know that Speedy’s time here on earth was a gift, and we are thankful for every memory, every laugh, every story, and every moment spent by his side. As we say goodbye for now, we hold tightly to our faith, trusting in the Lord’s plan and knowing that this separation is not forever.
Until we meet again in Heaven, may he rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Beech Grove Church on Monday, October 26, 2026. The family will be present one hour before the service begins starting at 11 and service starting at 12.
Pallbearers are Ryan Staton, Mike Staton, Stevie Bryant, Derek Stinnett, Frankie Truslow, Parker Truslow. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Bryant, Aj Bryant, Noah Bryant, Aiden Bryant, William Bryant, Jason Morris.
