Ronald E. "Ronnie" Martin

Ronald E. Martin (“Ronnie”), 73 of Lovingston, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at his residence.  Born March 13, 1949, in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Homer T. Martin and Marion Christine Mays Martin of Tye River.

Ronnie was a retired painting contractor with Spectrum Painting and Wallcovering.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family.

Ronnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.  He never met a stranger and was always eager to crack a joke to see you smile.  He was always patient, kind and giving.

He is predeceased by his wife of 47 years Carolyn P. Martin, brothers, Harold T. Martin, Kenneth W. Martin, and Steve F. Martin. 

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Kimberly Martin Moore; devoted grandchildren, Martin N. Moore, and Mary Beth Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 3pm on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Bethel Church of the Brethren in Arrington with Chaplain Murphy Terry officiating.

The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 7:00-8:00pm at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethel Church of the Brethren, 1921 Variety Mills Rd., Arrington, VA  22922.
