Rose Lee Heflin

Rose Lee Carroll Heflin, 69 of Lovingston passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 in Charlottesville.

She was born August 18, 1953 in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of the late Allen Cameron Carroll and Susie Gentry Carroll.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Jean Carroll and a brother David Allen Carroll.

Rose is survived by her husband of 44 years, Carlton Morris Heflin, Jr., daughters, Kitty Wood (Shane), Jessica Deyarmett, Brenda Asbury, and Katie Lincoln (Travis); grandchildren, Brian Carr (Jessica), Carlton Wallace (Autumn), Zack Carr (Katelyn), Dwayne Tinnell (Kalei), Angel Massie (Nick), Destiny Tyree (John), and Stephanie Swanson; great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Isabella, Brody, Kennadi, Kambri, Makynli, Oakley, Addalynn Marie, Taylor, Atreyu, Lailah, and Adalynn May (due to arrive in October); three sisters; two sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Nanny, as she was known to everyone, loved her family and family that was not blood related.  She babysat and fostered many children over the years. Nanny was the glue that held the family together and chauffeured everyone to where they needed to be.

Rose loved to cook for everyone and enjoyed her flowers immensely.  Other than the love of her life, Elvis was her man.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Kingswood Baptist Church with Pastor Carroll Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Private burial will follow in the family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to her funeral expenses.
