Ruth Anne Bowling Matuszak

Ruth Anne Bowling Matuszak, 82 of Shipman passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.

Born on November 28, 1939 in New York she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Bowling.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward; son Edward Matuszak; brothers Frank, Edward, Richard, Robert and Thomas Bowling.

Ruth was a retired Human Resource Professional and Sweet Briar College Riding Program.  She held many professional certifications.  Her work experiences included the 1980 Winter Olympics.   She was a member of Bethel Church of the Brethren in Arrington.

She is survived by her son Robert Matuszak of Shipman; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Bethel Church of the Brethren at Arrington with Brenda Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before time of service.
