Stanley Jerome Harris, 71, departed this life on Saturday February 21, 2026, at Kenwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Salina, Kansas. He was born in Nelson County, January 20, 1955, to the late James & Verdie Harris.

He was baptized at an early age, along with six of his siblings at Mount Eagle Baptist Church. He was brought up in the church. He kept his faith by always attending church and praising God.

After getting out of the Army, he was employed by the United States Postal Service. He worked there until he retired. He became an ordained minister in November 1988.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Rosa L. Martin and Elizabeth A. Harris. One brother, Joseph L. Harris and one nephew, Everett Harris.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers Alfred (Joyce) Harris, Waynesboro, VA, Raymond (Doris) Harris, Lumberton, NC, Dale Harris, Raeford, NC, one sister Sharon Harris, Afton, VA and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

In addition, he leaves behind two uncles, Robert (Ordee) Banks and Guy (Debra) Banks and one aunt, Malinda Banks.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 3, at 11:00 at Mount Eagle Baptist Church, Nellysford, VA with Pastor Matthew Grooms officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.
