Virginia Campbell Powell

Virginia Campbell Powell, 81, of Faber passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

Born October 11, 1943 she was a daughter of the late Leftwich Pelson Campbell and Virginia Pauline Gibson Campbell.

Virginia was the bookkeeper for Winton Country Club for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, James Estes Powell; her children, James Estes Powell, Jr. of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Michael Ray Powell of Amherst; Carolyn Powell Waters (Keith) of Madison Heights and Steven Wayne Powell (Melissa) of Madison Heights; two brothers, Maynard Campbell of Amherst and Sherman Campbell of Amherst; five grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Christopher, Melanie, Caitlyn and Anthony; four great grandchildren, Raylan, Sawyer, Tucker and Savannah as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, 828 Front Street, Lovingston with Pastor John P. Campbell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Powell Family Cemetery in Elma.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank all the staff of the University of Virginia Medical Center for all they did in her time of need.
